Pienza town hall

Pienza's intimate little center was almost completely redesigned in the 15th century by Pope Pius II who was born in Pienza. The Florentine architect and sculptor, Bernardo Rossellino, was commissioned to build a cathedral, papal palace, and town hall, but the grander scheme for a planned model Renaisance town was never realized.
